Vst Plugin Old Time Jazz Horns

100 Preset Sounds for Lo-Fi, Old School & Jazz Watch the Demo Video:'Lush VST' delivers an aesthetic collection of 100 Preset Sounds. We recorded and sampled a variety of vintage instruments including a Back Bb Trumpet, Fender 70s Jazz Bass, Wooden Native Flutes, Grand Piano, and much more.

  • Since you're trying to emulate old 70's records done on cheap gear all you really need is cheap mic like an sm57/58 and a pre-amp. Just have the trumpet player do multiple takes and stack them so it sounds like a group (have them de-tune their trumpet slightly so it sounds like different players).
  • Jazz & Big band 3 is a VST that gives you a little bit of everything that you would find in jazz compositions. There are some great sounding horns in here as well as some drum kits, pianos, and guitars. You can run this as stand-alone or run it with your favorite DAWs. The saxophone VST and the trumpet VSTs sound fantastic in this plugin.
  • I use Mojo horns for coming up with horn parts, then I usually replace what I have with the real thing, however there have been a few occasions when I've kept the midi trombone since it was the lower voice and not featured anyway. To properly make Mojo sound good you have to spend some time.

I know there are many gospel artists who want to start out making CCM (Christian Contemporary Music) or COGIC/Baptist (Black Gospel Music)

I’m about to list few instruments according category, so you get the sounds you’re looking for. All the ones I’m about to mention are of high quality since I have ignored ever 16 bit or amateur sounding instruments. (Most of them are 32 bit vsts but some might have a 64 bit support as well.)

Piano/ Electric Piano

1. 4Front Piano

This piano sounds great and is also simplistic for people who don’t know how to use knobs 😉 If you have sustain pedal connected to your midi keyboard, it would make this thing sound even better. Click here to download

2. Jazz Baby

This instrument is definitely perfect for a smooth, calm and progressive song. It’s jazzy touch will definitely keep thing intact. Click here to download Jazz Baby

3. Mr Ray 73 & Mr Ray

If you remember the Fender Rhodes Mark 1 piano and other classic electric pianos, this is it. Those classic RnB, Jazz, Funk and Blues songs had these good sounding babes to add so much flavour to the music. They both are mandatory vst’s for gospel music. Although I prefer Mr Ray 73 over the regular one.

4. 4Front Rhode

This vst seems to be modulated a little bit but it does sound great and responds to velocity very well. The sound layers are what make it a lot more fun to listen to. Click here to download 4Front Rhode

5. 4Front E-Piano

This is a beauty for sure without any doubt. Those old worship songs had those nice DX 7 electronic pianos that were used in both CCM and black gospel music. This is also a must have. Sounds great and will sweeten up your songs. Click here to download 4Front E-Piano

Organ/ Electric Organ

1. Combo Model F

Time for an old school praise break and you need an organ to back up the song as the secondary organ. Combo Model F has it all. Best backing organ for free out there right now. Click here to download Combo Model F

2. ORGANized Trio

This is the best organ saved for the last in this organ’s section. This organ has it all! Even a good sounding rotary effect (control with pedal too) which you can manipulate according to your needs. I’ve done a few songs with it and I got to admit, you either wanna have a good praise break or improvise some Gaither classics! This is a mandatory, you;ll never find anything like this for free. SynthBass/Bass Guitar

1. Genobazz

This good for CCM and slow Rnb, jazz gospel. Definitely not helpful for fast paced music. If you’ve listen to the Winans duo with Bebe and Cece, this kind of bass certainly suits their style of songs. This is a mandatory vst for those in need of bass. Click here to download Genobazz

2. EVM Bassline

This is a simplified all in one bass vst. It has generic sounds that will blend in to the mix and stay as an outstanding track. Click here to download EVM Bassline

3. 4Front Bass

This bass guitar does the trick to fill in and mix in as a generic bass guitar. If you’re looking for something simple and not very complex sounding. This is definitely the instrument for you. Click here to download 4Front Bass

Synth Leads are great but when you want find that right sound to go along with your melodic gospel song. The Mini Moog will always be at top of the list. Here are a few free vst moog emulations that sound realistic and also in good quality.
